Fall Inspiration

After taking a good chunk of time off this summer, I’m coming back to my Gowanus, Brooklyn hair studio feeling refreshed and inspired. My fall mood board has been building all summer— the colors and architecture from my vacation in Curaçao, time with family, and visits to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden with my mom, to the movement and sculptural forms of Iris van Herpen exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum, and the music and energy of the Broadway musical Buena Vista Social Club.

Now I’m ready to bring all of that inspiration back behind the chair.

For fall, I’m thinking about richer color, dimension, texture and movement. Warm brunettes, golden blondes, touches of copper, silver that’s meant to be seen, and haircuts with shape— layers and fringe to bobs, shags and shorter silhouettes.

It’s less about following a trend and more about taking inspiration from everywhere and translating it into hair that feels like you.
